Actor’s Tool Box (2-4th grade, Fall ’13) $140
Saturdays 9:00-10:00am. Sept 7 to performance on Nov. 9
We will help the actor fill their tool box with skills such as how to develop a character, thinking about how that character walks, talks, reacts, thinks and feels. During these classes students will use these tools to devise and perform in their original adaption of “ James and the Giant Peach”
Lights Up (5-6th grade, Fall ’13) $145
Saturdays 9:45-10:45am, Sept 7 to performance on Nov. 16
With a focus on performance, student actors will rehearse and perform 2 shows. One will be scene work to strengthen their actor’s toolbox as well as a second full cast performance where the student actors will learn to work as an ensemble.
The Fifth Beat (7-12th grade, Fall ’13) $150
Saturdays 11:00-12:30pm. Sept 7 to performance on Dec 7th
The fifth beat is when the actor takes everything within themselves that they created for their character and breathes life and energy into their character as they bring it alive on stage. This class will present acting scenes and monologues weekly to their ensemble. Through this rehearsal and reflection process they will grow and develop their acting skills. Class will conclude with a production of the actor driven classic “Our Town”.
Starlight’s Young Directors (8-12th grade, Fall ’13) $145
Saturdays 12:30-1:30. Sept. 7th to Nov. 16.
This class will provide the student with the beginning building blocks of directing: play analysis, the importance of storytelling, stage pictures, staging and the rehearsal process concluding with presentations of scenes they will direct. Class is limited to only 12 students.
MONDAY ACTING CLASSES
Storybook Theater (K-2nd grade, Fall -12)
4:00-4:45 pm $130 Storybook Theater is a perfect way to introduce the young actor to the magical world of theater. Students will enjoy role-playing in different stories such as “The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh” “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” and “101 Dalmatians”. This Monday class will run from Sept 9 to Oct. 28 (no class on Columbus Day- Oct. 14 ) concluding with a sharing of their work.

n’s Theater (Teens by audition)
5:15-6:15 pm $140
This class will teach the teen actor how to perform for young audiences. Actors will learn the craft of storytelling while developing the physicality of their character. The actors will then present their show at the Eric Carle Museum in early December. Acceptance to this class is by audition, opened to experienced committed teenagers.
