Starlight congratulates alumni Dan Robert for winning the Rod Parker Playwriting Fellowship Award at Emerson for his play Catatonia, which was produced in Boston:

“Without Starlight my life would simply be unrecognizable. For more than six years it was Cindy and the Starlight family who endowed me with a strong and vibrant sense of self through the exploration of theater. This sense of self-worth and an early exposure to the the transformative magic of story telling has empowered me to pursue a life in the performing arts. There is no safer place to begin as a young artist than under the careful, wise, and supportive eye of Cindy Strycharz – who has become a life-long mentor and friend. I credit Starlight not only with helping me develop the tools that have brought me great successes as an actor, director, writer and teacher; but with the tools that I use in my day to day life as a problem-solver, a leader, a student and a friend. There is no greater gift as a child than the gift of being heard, and through story, play, and ownership Starlight gave me voice.”  -Dan Robert, March 2013

Dan Robert is a graduate of Pioneer Valley Performing Arts High School and Emerson College in Boston where he was a Theatre Studies major.
