Academy of Music in Northampton

Victor Hugo’s novel Les Miserable was said to be one of the greatest novels of the 19th century. The musical first opened in Paris in 1980 to poor reviews by the critics but the people loved it and embraced it. The show went on to open in London in 1985 and then Broadway in 1987, winning eight Tony awards. This show asks the question “At the end of the day” (At the end of our lives) – what was it for? What were the happy moments, the sad moments, the unjust moments and the moments you were forced to fall to your knees to ask God above for forgiveness, answers, directions or possible protection for someone else? Did you find that guidance, were your prayers answered? Did you meet an angel? Did you find the courage and strength to face your challenges for one more time, one more day, “One Day More”? Not easy questions to look into ourselves to find these answers but this amazing cast has taken on that challenge to tell this story; to hopefully encourage someone in the audience to hang in there, know they are not alone and most importantly believe in the power of love. I’ve been honored to work with this wonderful cast who have shown nothing but love to one another, and have stretched themselves artistically to bring this powerful meaning into the production. We deeply thank the crew, the production staff, the volunteers, the parents and you the audience for all your love and support.  Much love Cyn
